102 Reflection on Letter to editor

My letter to the Editor review

I originally wrote this because I hated the thought that the editor added bikes with bigger engines into a 600cc comparison. I do own a Honda 600 and while it won, I felt it was just unfair to add the others into the shootout. I felt this way until I read another publications article on just the Triumph 650 bike and after reading wondered how that bike would compare so I really had a change of heart. I went back and reread the review and saw how clever the article was. I decided to write the editor and thank him for his work instead of complain about it.

I wrote this letter with just the audience in mind, that being the editor and other readers of this magazine. This magazine is very liberal and curse words are spread throughout, however in contrast there are strict technical junkies as well that go for reviews and technical specs they provide in each and every magazine. I wanted to try and show how at first pathos took over and I was one of those complaining cry babies that pollute the editor sections of magazines daily. However upon reading another publication on strictly the Triumph 650, I was left wanting more facts and the Sportrider magazine provided that.

Regardless of one article I will continue to buy the subscription because I love the magazine, but this really is the first article I ever read that made me want to write the editor; that was before this class assignment. However when we had this assignment and I reread it I changed my mind and actually liked the article and the facts it gave because those facts I didnt want, I could simply ignore.
